Privacy Policy

Plain words about what is stored, why, and how you control it.

Privacy should be simple: I collect only the minimum data required to run the game, sync your progress, and maintain the leaderboard. There are zero tracking pixels, no advertising networks, and no analytics scripts monitoring your browsing.

If you solve as a guest

Nothing leaves your phone or computer. Your solve state, endless wave positions, clue answers, and preferences remain exclusively in your browser’s local storage. If you clear your browser cache or site data, that information is cleared with it.

If you sign in

Signing in is only required if you want an official Elo rating, a spot on the Leaderboard, and cross-device sync.

When you sign in with Google, your login provider confirms your identity and shares your email, name, and profile picture. Here is how that is handled:

• No passwords: Authentication is handled securely through Google OAuth. Cryptician never sees or stores a password.
• Public leaderboard handle: On the leaderboard, you can set any handle you like. Your email address is strictly private and is never shown publicly, sold, or shared.
• No marketing spam: Your email address is only used as your account key. I will never send you unsolicited promotional emails.

Clue and app feedback

When you submit feedback or rate a clue, your comments go directly into our database so I can read them and tighten the clue models. If you include an optional email with your message, it is only used if your note requires a direct response.

Your data and account deletion

You always own your data. From the account menu, you can export your entire solving history or permanently delete your account at any time. When deleted, your account record, stored waves, ratings, and leaderboard standing are immediately and permanently removed from the database.
